Nexford University (NXU) is building an end to end education to employment platform, we are looking for a CPO who will own the design and development of NXU products from product vision to implementation.

The CPO is an exciting opportunity to lead the re-invention of higher education! The CPO will lead on designing product offerings which will deliver a cutting edge experience to learners across the world, combining between the best of edtech and higher ed. You will lead product development for a next-generation university enabling learners across the world to prepare for local and global career opportunities regardless of their physical location, gender, race or socioeconomic background.

You will have the opportunity to deliver real impact by helping learners globally achieve their lifelong goals through online courses, certificates, and degree programs. The ideal candidate will have experience building products which involve mapping complex business rules and processes.


This role involves working closely with academic, learning design and technology development teams with responsibilities around product design and development. You will be in charge of designing products that address academic challenges not previously solved using traditional approaches.



Job Responsibilities 


  • Own the product design and development for all technology and academic product offerings
  • Build and manage a team of product managers building both academic programs as well as tech features designed to deliver effective learning at scale
  • Build a deep understanding of the global higher education landscape, key challenges & trends, regulatory environment, and Nexford University’s unique operating model
  • Consult with learning science experts to deliver the optimal learning design using technology
  • Build a scalable product stack that will power a next-generation American university delivering high-quality education at a fraction of the cost of competitors
  • Design products that drive learning outcomes, engagement, retention & satisfaction
  • Design products linking education to employment at scale

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience; minimum 3 in technology product development
  • Excellent understanding of product development and design
  • Prior experience in developing complex software products is essential, ideally from scratch
  • Process orientation: demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes in and out of product development 
  • Project management skills:  will have demonstrated the ability to push projects over the finish line with sound planning and persistent execution; will understand how to align resources, seek the input of key stakeholders, and manage others to achieve desired results
